Hi there everyone! I come bearing a simple question.

I have noise HLA in my legacy turbo.... And would like to know where i can find a part number for these lifters.

That or can i convert them to be None HLA's because i have a set of 95 leggy NA heads that are not true anymore. So can i snitch parts from one to the other??

Thanks!

Tom.

Tom,

I don't think you'll be able to convert the lifters to non-hydraulic. Typically you can remove the lifters, bleed them and they'll be ok. If you want to buy new ones, the part # is 13230AA110

OK. No converting then. Thats totally cool.

And Thanks Legacy777 very very much for the part number!

Sort of dumb post here BUT... If i had a failing hla could it cause a sort of "back pressure/power lose"? Because on my way home from work my car made some unholy noises and lost power then.... I fear for the worst! My car only makes the hla noise when hot tho?

Any thoughts??

Or maybe i should post in another section for this?

A failing or collapsed lifter would just not open the valve all the way. It may reduce power, but I wouldn't think it's substantial.

What kind of noises did it make? Is it still making noises, and can you describe them?

Well the noise it was making was a sort of laggy "Pooof" noise. And just missing like a old V8! Tho NO codes!

It got SOO bad that the car would not idle without me revving it. Tho when revved the car was fine?

So what i did was pull the plugs and swap my coil pack with the factory unit. Not the diamond one.

Plugs where worn hard... Like gaps where over 60! No oil, not much carbon.

I did all that and the car runs much better!

Although there is still a problem here.... The car still feels sucked out.

It idles fine.
It accelerates ok till boost.
Then the car just feels totally bogged compared to what it once was all most not nearly as bad.

Im thinking its a fuel issue now.

Could the the fuel pump could be dieing?
Could the injectors be on there last legs?
Could it just be a clogged fuel filter?
I think i will swap my injectors, fuel pump soon.

Notable mentions: The car has a AEM FIC in her. Its been great running till now....
Has a GT28RS turbo
Have hit fuel cut too many times... I have lost track over 30 times at least.
Has factory recirculation valve.
Have NEVER pinned it with this turbo yet. I know i can run the fuel duty to 50% at 40% throttle.

Any thoughts??

Well Boys!

I fell victim to the simplest thing yet.....

You may have hurt of Air/Fuel/Spark??

I had good air! I had good spark!

I had bad fuel!

I had a very poor fuel filter! Like black crap coming out of it!

So i changed it up for a new factory unit... Car runs like a bat out hell!

So to recap. If you have a problem, keep it simple stupid all the time.

PS:

side note. If you car has a kinda funny throttle bog, change your fuel filter. Fixed my up real good.
