i am setting up a dyno day for the legacy and forester crowd, in hopes to detour some of the obnoxious impreza guys. mature impreza owners will be welcome. i need to see how many people are interested and see if we could agree on a spring time date.
i was thinking sometime in may and most likely a saturday. it will be held at R&H garage in seattle. the website is
http://r-hgarage.com/.
please post if you are interested and lets all try to agree on a day. once we have a count and a day, i will get a price and a list of fun stuff that we could include for the day.
OFFICIAL TIME AND DATE: saturday may 5th at 9am!!!

I just did mine but they didn't have an rpm clamp for obd1 cars so I don't know if it was legit or not. I found an exhaust leak from a missing up pipe gasket and a huge chunk of my cat came out because it was clogged really bad so I bet I could put up a few more ponies this time.

yup, but do keep in mind, this is a mustang dyno. it is the lowest reading but most accurate dyno on the market. its not a bad thing, i just dont want people to have high expectations for power output. example, my wrx makes roughly 330-340 hp at the crank but i put down 278 whp on this dyno.

A lot depends on how the dyno is setup and configured. Dyno Dynamics dynos tend to be at the upper end of dynos, in terms of accuracy and cost. Mustang dynos are very good as well. The shops I've been at with Mustang dynos probably read a little higher than the ones with dyno dynamics.
A good way to compare is to see what a stock STi or WRX will make on their dyno. Since that is a known hp, especially if multiple stock cars dyno the same, you've got a good baseline for comparison.
For example, at the shop that did my last tuning, stock STi's put down 250 hp / 250 ft-lbs of torque on their dyno. My car did 242 hp / 280 ft-lbs of torque. So I equated that I was just shy of 300 hp and around 330 ft-lbs of torque at the crank.

Depending on date and gas prices. I might come just to meet more fellow first gen. owners.

The dyno they used at the school down here was a mustang dyno as well so it should be a good comparison.

a bone stock wrx puts down 140 whp on this mustang dyno and a sti puts down 220 whp. a stage 2 sti with a tune will see 260-280 whp on this mustang dyno.

No wonder vica was saying his 1.8L has like 60whp on your dyno - that's low!

That's good you've got some baseline numbers so folks that go have something to compare against.

it is going to be $40 for 3 pulls. we can only do that if we can get 30 or more cars. i already have a good amount of people on legacygt.com that are going but we need some more.

61HP thank you very much! If I have a legacy crank/block in at that point, can I come play too?

I'm down! Two things. It would be nice to meet some fellow 1st gen tleg owners and r&h is doing my down pipe, cat back, mbc, boost gauge, and wide band gauge. I'm sure since there doing the install that they'll include at least one dyno run when I do it in April. But I'd love to meet some fellow fanatics and have a good day. What day in may are you thinking?
