Sti Steering Rack $350, test drive it in my '92 Legacy (WA)

Hi everybody, I have found that this quick ratio rack no longer fits my driving style. Somebody should be enjoying this thing and my other cars could use the money. What I have is from a 40,000 mile 2006 sti, there is the rack, power steering pump, and the double U joint column piece that I carefully welded together from 1/2 legacy, 1/2 sti (splines are much larger on this rack). I have been using it with the legacy p/s pump and lines, but the sti pump should fit fine if you use the hydraulic lines that it's meant for. It test fits o-k on ej22 & ej22t engines and probably others. I'd like to see $350 for all of it (I have receipts for over 400 at gundies) and like I said in the title, it will be in my car until purchased so you can test drive it. Located in Bellingham, WA. Thanks for looking!

How much of a difference does this make? I've always been slightly annoyed by how much I have to turn the wheel on my Subaru compared to my Camaro.

How is it mounted? I have always read that the crossmember needs to match for the updated mounting.

It's drastically quicker than the standard rack. Comparing to things I've driven, it's about as quick as a miata with power steering, a bit quicker than a ford focus.
I understand what you're saying about mounting. It's been a while, but I do remember fretting over the different mount on that side. I know I looked over the parts diagram at the dealership when I bought the bolts for it, and I'm confident that it's installed safely if not identical to the way it's meant to be. I'll get a couple pics tomorrow, hopefully it stops raining..

Sorry for the lack of punctuality. Below are the pictures. I washed the rallycross mud off right before I took these, so it looks like it's leaking, but it's just water. Also, as far as crossmembers, I've tried it with '92 n/a, and it's with a '94 turbo crossmember now, it was a straight bolt-in with the right hardware and custom knuckle piece (included). I couldn't 100% guarantee it fitting cars other than the Legacy, but I'd venture a guess that it'd work in the majority of Subaru's.. you guys know how the lego thing goes!

Looks like the pictures don't work. Here's the Flickr link:

I'll just be going back to the standard Legacy rack. I guess I just didn't see a benefit in my times, yeah it was easier to hit lock, but for me the benefits were offset by less steering precision compared to a slower ratio. Besides all that, I've moved on to a '77 Mitsubishi Lancer (rwd) rallycar, and switching back and forth to the driving styles for either car is a bit difficult to do!

i cant decide if i should just look for a WRX rack instead of STI... although when i drove my wrx after having the sti i missed it. its really more for turning around quickly since thats the most competitive my driving gets. (always missing turns lol)

I can't recall the relative ratio of the WRX rack, but I miss quite a few turns too, and I'd say this one will make your U turns as easy as possible! lol.
Here's a shot of the Lancer:

If you can send everything to my door for the $350, I'll take it. PM and we can work it out.
