I can get a really good deal on a 97 OB 4EAT for the girlfriends 92 with 210k with TERRIBLE torque bind and drain and refills haven't done it any good sadly.

Is this a plug and play affair? Or?

I do know that it will need the 4.44 rear diff too.

I think 98 was the first year for the phase 2 transmissions, however someone may want to confirm that. As long as it's a phase 1 trans, it should bolt in. There are a few additional sensors on the newer phase 1's, but the TCU in the 92 should work.

I'll just say that going from a 3.9 final drive to a 4.44 will be HUGE, and she may not like it on the freeway. It will feel faster, but the revs are going to be pretty substantially higher at cruising speed.

The only reason i'd go with the 4.44 is due to the price. She has cams and going to have a full EL header back.

The 3.9 is the killer at this point for power I believe.

If I can find a good 4.11 that is what I will do.
