I cant figure it out! if I remove the rotor the bracket will line up. the rotor causes it to be off 1/4 to half an inch.

Front or back? As long as the rotor is the right size should fit.

Front. I wonder if they gave me the wrong bracket? The 04 WRX pad fits inside the bracket however the bracket rubs the rotor and the bottom mounting bolt is off.

I measured the rotor at 293mm. Which is correct

That means the calipers are wrong. The ones you have fit the 276mm rotors. Two options change rotors (which I would do) the difference in brakeing I don't think is noticeable. Or change caliper. There is a thread on this but not sure how to cut and paste w/ phone, look up Compiled brake info.

Calipers are correct. They match the same part number as my 04 WRX calipers.

The bracket is what is incorrect. However now no auto part stores carry the damn brackets. NO ONE. Subaru wants almost 80 frickin' dollars.

What? Lots of auto parts stores carry that bracket. I don't know where you've been shopping but I know for a FACT that Autozone and Rockauto can get them for under 40$

Okay. Well I called 3 of the autozones local to me. All of which said they cannot. I did order them on Rockauto yesterday however. 25 a piece.

Shucks/Oreilys doesn't carry them anymore
Knechts doesn't carry them or have them in their system
Napa doesn't carry them or have them in their system
Autozone doesn't have them and can't order them in
Baxster Auto parts doesn't have them in their system

Crap, I had forgotten that they changed the pad design midway through 2003. If you haven't used the pads already I suggest using 2002 WRX brackets instead because those are the ones I got from Autozone.

I did find the 2004 brackets here http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... &ppt=C0064
