really don't want to chew these tires up!!!

Got a deal pending. yokohama ao32 in the above tire size. My car is strictly toy. Sits in the garage comes out to play. Compete in autox and rallyx. I don't do bodywork, just got a bunch of go fast bits. I already rolled the fenders (with a sledge) and I'm wondering if I'm gonna run into any fitment issues. I'm willing to cut my fenders right off I gotta.
Rim sizes I'm looking at right now are 17x9 with a 35 offset. Might get a 17x8 with a 45 too.
Looking for input. I did a search and I know fenders are gonna be an issue...or at least they were. I don't think I'm gonna hit the strut. But how about full lock turns up front?

how about lots of camber like 2.5-3.5 negative on the 45 offset?

That's not true. It depends on ride height. I have 17x8s with 225/45/17s and the drivers side rubs on the frame on hard right turn corners and tight turns jn parking lots with bumps.

Maybe its my -2 camber up front but I'm going to raise it and hope for the best.

If I had 45 offset I bet I'd be ok. They didn't have the wheel in that size though and only had 17x8 or I would have gotten 17x7.5.

Offset works the other way round. The higher the offset the further inboard the wheel will be. Standard subaru offset is normally 52 /53 but after market alloys dont seem to be available higher than 48

Probably because if you use a wheel with a higher offset than 48 that's aftermarket and almost ALWAYS wider than stock, you will run into the problem I have with it rubbing on the frame or strut.

custom widened oem steel rims on mine 16x9 but with the original offset to start with they still clear with only the fenders rolled out. No rubbing on the frame or coilovers
