hey guys my name is jake and this is my 94 legacy ss

i currently also have a 98 impreza L wagon and a 91 audi 200 quatro 20v turbo.
before these rides i had a 02 bugeye wrx wagon.. which i shouldnt have sold!

anyway i have heard lots of great things about this forum mainly from another buddy who has a turbo leggy, so i had to join up!
i spend most of my time on dirtyimpreza under the name WAGONLOVE. i moved to colorado this last fall and we are loving it so far! great place to be a subie owner! i plan on turning the leggy into a dedicated rallyx/tsd/autocross/doanythingfun car!
i will run in stock class this season with CORX and i have already competed in the first two rallyxs with the wagon! so now i have a car with a bit more power and should be even more competative!
any tips regarding these cars would be great! i have been reading up on the FAQs and some of the stickied threads to learn as much about this car as i can!

one thing befor i go. the cel light is flashing... now as far as i understand it after i cleared the codes the light should have shut off until another code came up and the light would remain on as a solid light not flashing right? i have reset the ecu... tried the whole clearing of codes sequence over and over again.. but i am at a loss. car runs great. but would like the flashing light to go away..
anyone with any advise for me would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
Jake

Looks like you got a great deal and those are my favorite wheels. Welcome to the family, would love to see pics of the audi too.

thanks man, i had the wheels in shed for a buddy... but he never sent me money so i decided to throw them on the car! so i have the stock turbo wheels in the shed as well as a set of legacy bottle caps that have snows on them that also came with the car!! ill work on putting a couple of pics of the oodi up... its sitting while i find a cat for a decent price to throw on it so it will pass emissions...

First off welcome. Your SS is beautiful! And the Audi isn't too shabby either. I also have a set of snowflakes on my Legacy. They are just so sexy on 1st gens.
As for your cel if its flashing codes at you the diagnostic pigtail is still probably plugged in. My car was like that when I bought it. Flashing good ole' code 22. So read your code (or codes) and check and make sure the diag connecter is not connected.

thanks i also think its beautiful!! i think im gonna paint the snowflakes gold... im a sucker for gold wheels on a subie..
i tried that already... i swear its not plugged in.. i checked like 10 times..... its not flashing codes, its just giving me the half second all clear flashes...

So what code or codes did it give you when you read it? Or were there even any codes? The cel comes on and off in my SVX because of a bad o2 sensor.

it gave me maf code. o2 sensor code, and a/f ratio code thrown off because of the nasty dirty maf. which i cleaned and and then ran like a champ. but its not as if its coming on and then going away for a while.. it flashes allllll the time! and its the half second "all clear" flash...

Welcome to the BBS.

Have you tried the green & black connectors togethr to clear the codes? If not, you may want to give that a shot.

What happens when you do the active diag test with just the green connectors?

Does it exhibit any different behavior when disconnect just the black or green connectors vs. having both the green & black connectors disconnected?

drove the car in active test mode over the weekend, the CEL went away for like 5 seconds then came back with the all clear flashing again.... shut the car off disconnected the green plugs and started the car back up and it went right back to flashing all clear....

Nice and clean SS, one of these days the turbo legacy people in Colorado should have a meet!

The only thing I could think of is the previous owner hard wired the read memory pin on the ECU to ground, which is why it blinks all the time. You could look under the dash at the ECU to try and check that. Short of that.....try another ECU.
