What sensor is the "Air Control Valve?"

what do i need to do to check it or fix it?

Or is this the Idle Air Control Valve?

Air control valve = idle air control valve.

My car tends to "josh idle" (idles slowly gos up and down maybe 250 rpm +-). Would it fix it to remove the iac and clean it out. I'm afraid to mess it up.

well i just tried pooring some stuff in it and running it and im still really hesitant, so i guess after it cools down some im going to take the iac off and clean it out with some maf cleaner or something else.

If I'm gonna clean it I'm going to make sure its done right to eliminate guesswork.

I'm giving up for the day.... im pissed off at it now. the god damn car should be pulling like a champ, and i feel like your geo would eat this thing alive... maybe in a day or two ill mess with it again.

Hahaha! Not a chance. Good to take a break and collect yourself and come back. You see things you don't when you're frustrated.

Josh idle? I've never heard an idle oscillation called that...or is that an inside joke?

Haha I was waiting for that. Inside joke from high school. My friend has this REALLY shitty integra that half the kids in my school owned at one point or another and they all abused it heavily. The idle would go way up and way down back and forth. His name is Josh so we all called it the Josh idle because he had the car the longest of about 10+ people who owned it in this tiny little town.

The car was called The Swampness Monster. The hatch leaked really bad to the point where it would constantly have a small swamp in the spare tire well which caused the windows to constantly fog up because the defrost could not keep up with the level of humidity inside. When you took corners you could hear the swamp splashing around in the back. HAHA. It was regularly raced and it pulled super hard to one side from being in an accident and bending the unibody or something. He left the keys in it regularly hoping someone would steal it and he could get money from his insurance.

Hahaha.....gotta love some of the hoopdy rides kids had in high school.
