just thought i would say that i am new to this forum but no stranger to forums. i have a 98 legacy gt sedan. it has a host of problems...that i have been working on. i need to put in a new clutch, that being said, i have heard several people say that i have to pull the motor to do this. is this accurate? i have been told that i can just unbolt the motor from the clutch housing and put it in that way. any info would be a great help. -ken

It much easer to pull engine leaving all hoses and wiring connected and just slide it forward enought to replace the clutch. The last one I did took me about 2 hours.

Welcome to the BBS.

Personally, I would rather drop the transmission than pull the motor, but that's me. You might be able to slide the motor forward enough to change the clutch, but I think it depends on your setup.
