with teh MY 93-96 WRX intercooler install, I did it without doing the turbo
uprade at the same time. that was a serious mistake. the turbo "clocking" is
off.
What is clocking in reference to the turbo and intercooler. He made it sound that the stock turbo had problems with this intercooler? Is he referring to how it works or how the hoses line up, or something else? I'm confused. I got this from a thread on the yahoo board.

I am not real sure where the term clocking came from but when you "clock" a turbo you loosen the compressor housing and rotate it in the direction needed to get the desired angle to match up with the intercooler or manifold. This is not possible with our stock turbo as the intake elbow is fastened to the compressor housing and would rotate also. What I did was get a very short elbow of the proper size and cut it to fit in between the turbo and the intercooler inlet.
