92 leggy has no spark

picked up a 92 leggy wagon with 103,000 on it. and since we unloaded it from the flat bed it hasnt ran. new coil plugs wires ign module and still no spark. i did notice the crank pulley had a wobble on it when we cranked it. could that throw off the crank sensor? or could it be a timing belt issue?

Swap the ignitor....very common for those to be bad. I always have an extra in the trunk for that reason.

You swapped the ignitor, the coil pack, wires and plugs...correct? Hard to tell with your commas missing.

Have you checked all of the fues's hate to ask but its overlooked a lot, i'd look at the cam position sensor and see what that's doing, also I'd look into the igniter harness and see if the fourth pin has power should be a yellow wire, a friend of mine has had two turbo wagons with that problem, it also blows the sbf#2, if that's the cause of the yellow wire burning it self out. Pull off a timing cover from either side. Crank it over. Does the timing belt spin the cams? If not you probably have a broken keyway. I mention this because of your saying the crank pulley looks wobbly. How does it sound while cranking? Does it sound normal?

sounds normal no clanking. looks like the rubber ring in the crank pulley is shot.. i was starting to wonder if that wobble would throw off the timing and not let the crank sensor work right. and should i go with a oem crank pulley or get something a lil better

The wobble wouldn't affect the crank timing. Have you checked to see if the timing belt is spinning?
Just use a stock pulley.

its heading to the shop this week. if its just a timing belt issue i'll be happy. the next big issue will be the hard to find 90 degree turbo inlet elbow lol

i talked to a ase certified mechanic that specializes in subaru's told him whats going on and he told me that the crank pulley could affect the crank sensor. i'm making an appointment for him to look at the car. so i hope its the timing belt or crank pulley and not the 300 dollar crank sensor lol

and i was just wondering if the ignition switch in the dash went bad would that stop the ign module to not react

A crank sensor is a lot cheaper than that at a junkyard.

They almost never fail and can be picked up for less than $10 at a junkyard. Seems like a no-brainer to me. I would honestly be very very surprised if yours was bad unless the wires got pinched and broken or it got smashed into something.

The ignition switch often goes bad...gives spark when in the "on" position... but no ignition gets thru when in the start position.
Sooo... just push start it to see if this is true... then... install a push button for the starter. Problem solved.
Happen to me 3 times. Different cars... same problem. Early 90's Impreza and legacy. Same exact problem. Same fix.

Or just turn on a switched load like headlights. If ignition switch is bad and IGN is cutting out on start, headlights, venting fan and power windows will completely blank out when starter is activated.
