Unless you need the cat for emissions, get one without. Just an exhaust restriction and the aftermarket cat on my car came apart in less than 10K miles and got lodged in my muffler tip and melted my bumper. It was totally clogged. I'll never run a cat again.

What are the bulges in the dp and mid pipe? Resonators? More than one? I doubt it.

i called the company and they said both sets are cat less but even if there is a cat i can gut it anyways. but for the price they are selling them i doubt there's cat's in them

I vote no on any kind of pre-turbo flex pipe like that. People have had those fail and get sucked into their turbo. Just keep the stock up pipe. If it were me I would just buy a 3" catless dp and a nice 3" muffler, not one of those ricey fart cans and take it to an exhaust shop and have tuem fill in the rest.

Agreed, you do not need to replace the stock up-pipe. It is identical to what the STi uses (non-twin scroll turbo STi's) so it'll be more than good for your legacy.

i'm more worried about the down pipe back. i'm not going to use the up pipe. i just figured with the new motor might as well update the exhaust.

Good thinkin. No need for a larger preturbo exhaust. Smaller diameter means more velocity in the exhaust gases which spools the turbo faster. Porting helps but no need for a larger diameter up pipe like some companies sell.
