Hi there everybody!
I come asking a sort of simple/hard LOL question!
Im wondering what would it take to have a speedo/cluster like this in my car:
go to picture 4

ITS ELECTRONIC!!! and it goes to 260km!
I want it!
What would it take to make a usdm car get the euro cluster into it??
Thanks!!
Tom

I'm guessing the cluster will actually bolt in.
From there it's a matter of figuring out the proper wiring.
IIRC, Josh is working on this now as part of his 6speed swap.

Do tell if anyone figures it out. I'd like to run one in my car but perhaps change the face to a usdm mph face. Be done with that stupid pain in the ass cable that always breaks. Also maybe it would be possible to calibrate it somehow with a resister or something? My speedo is way off.

Right on! I like how someone is on the case of it!
As for calibration:

Yes, I will be swapping in an electronic speedo when I do my 6spd swap. I lucked out and got one from the UK, so the units are in MPH. However, before I got the one with MPH, I was going to swap the faces and recalibrate it.
For me, I'm going to be using the stock speed sensor on the 6spd and then running that into my stand alone. I can calibrate the speed input so the ECU sees the correct speed and then I'll have to calibrate the output from the ECU to the speedometer so it displays the correct speed. Both not a big deal.
I need to finish up my testing and pin verication on the overseas cluster. Once I've done that, I'll hook it up the stand alone to ensure it can drive the speedometer correctly. Plus I can get the calibration in the ball park since the original speedometer is still there. I need to figure out how I'm going to do the wiring, but I'll work on that when I do my swap.
The one thing I'm not sure of is how to adjust the odometer. I'd prefer not to crack open the odometer unless I have to, but we'll see.
I can tell you from my searching, it may be kind of difficult to find one. Timo had found one a month or so ago. I pm'd him to see if he still had it and sent him a link to this thread. So if he's still got it, that might be an option for you.

Depends on price if its worth it.

Short of needing it for a standalone, I don't see why I'd want one?

Couple reasons. Allows the ability to recalibrate it via aftermarket chip and it gets rid of the pain in the ass speedo cable.

I called that friend and he still has it
The guy asked €80,- for it, (which is around 100 USD), shipping will cost 25 USD to your adress.
(I will do the shipping to make sure everything will be fine)
There is a scratch at the plastic-glass, but I can get one of the glasses of the non-electrical speedometers I have.
I can ad this glass for you if you want. (you can have it for free, I have multiply non-electrical which I'm not using anymore)

Josh check your pm I sent you some info
I will also consider trying a 2nd gen electronic speedo and sender wired into the ecu & cluster. I have lots of spare parts to test this with
here is a side pic of the speedo removed from my spare cluster
to add miles to the odometer remove the screw and clip that holds the blue worm gear.
then you can spin the main gear by hand forward only
