air-to-water intercooler retrofit questions
Posted: Sun Apr 15, 2001 4:28 am
Hi guys, Finally found a source in the USA for genuine Subaru air-to-water
intercooler a few minutes from my work. They pull all the stuff off the
engine and make Sube powered dune buggies!
With this email I am attempting to contact those of you I believe also have
air-to-
water units or cooler retrofit experience.
And now if you don't mind I have a few questions please for those of you
kind
enough to spare the time to help me.
Is your cooler stock, or did you fit one to a turbo vehicle which did not
originally have one?
Does your cooler have the water filler in the top, the little plastic water
level sight ball off to the side, and an electrical connection?
And now the really important questions, in order of importance;
1. What is the
volume (length x height x depth) of the water radiator?
2. What's the electrical connection on top of the intercooler?
3. Did the cooler fit under the hood without any scoop mod, and allow the
ducting to the turbo to remain in place?
4. What, if anything did you have to move, reroute, reposition, chop off,
etc?
Now that I have a
cooler located, I have to start collecting the rest of
the system, cause this source only has the intercooler, nothing else. It
should not be too hard cause most of the other stuff is pretty universal.
Appreciate any and all help, I will probably be back for more
Thanx all.
