Think it's overkill? They're only a little bit more expensive than a walbro.

The 320 may provide a little more for future power goals. I think the 255 would probably work as well, but it's up to you whether you want to spend the additional money.

Related...Hi-jack?

Is the DW pump more reliable? I've read recently that the Walbro may not last....and DW is a higher quality unit??

Any feedback?

I don't see that as a hack at all wash. Hell id love to have more info it as well. Good point to ask. What do you mean the walbro won't last? What did you read/hear about it?

Just that I read a handful- maybe not even a 'statistically sufficient' # of posts to make it accurate-that the Walbro had failed for some owners. It's been over the last year, and I don't have links to the sites. In fact I was like, 'Wow, I hadn't read any negative reviews" and I came across a few.

But if the DW is not that much more, than it may just be worth any premium you pay....having stated that, I have no personal experience w/the DW pump, and have installed 2 Walbros w/out an issue.

I haven't heard any negative feedback on the walbro's, however there may be some manufacturing differences in some recent batches. I know I've never had any issues with mine.

There was a post on here about it as well. So... when y'all bought the walbro's, did they come with the "sock," or can I reuse the one on the oem pump? Mine came without one (used).

I believe it comes with the sock, but I'm not 100% sure. You should buy the WRX install kit, which has everything to make it plug & play. The part #'s for both the proper pump, (you want the 341 pump, not 342) & the install kit are on the bbs. I've posted several times.

Crap - looks like I need that kit, just for the sock. I have everything else. :(

I have the DW300. It's noticeably quieter than the Walbro I had before, that thing made an awful squealing noise.

I've heard recently that some online retailers are selling knockoff, Chinese-made pumps as Walbro, with the name stamped on and all. I don't know how to tell the difference, but its something to watch out for.
