WOT to start when cold, and very smokey for a bit, then pretty normal. Does this sound like a coolant temp. sensor to anybody??

Plugged in revscan or evoscan to read the temp sensor values when cold and warmed up?

No sir, I don't have those tools. Also high revs when cold, 2-3k rpm when.clutch is depressed.

Coolant temp sensor would be what I'd be leaning towards, especially if it hasn't been replaced before. Plus it's not an expensive item to just replace.
