Car won't turn over after ej22t and 5mt swap.

Ok so finally got it all back together. Unplugged the fuel pump to prime the engine with oil. Went to crank it, all the dash lights light up, but nothing from the starter. No clicking or anything. I looked around and found the clip for the knock sensor had busted so i just spliced the wires together for now. Still nothing. The only other thing I can think of is that when I was wiring the ECU harness, there was no pin in the "Transmission ID" slot, so i didnt add one, could this be the problem? Neutral switch is wired up. Also I just clipped the wires to the automatic shifter, could this have anything to do with it? Should I try jumping the starter? Any input is appreciated.

Double check your starter wiring. Make sure it is on a solid ground, and the switch is plugged in. If it looks right, undo it and redo it. I had that problem once after I messed with some stuff.

The red/yellow wire for your starter is triggered hot with the Ignition, from there you have a blue wire that is wired into your mpfi control unit where it is switch for neutral safety. So in theory if you bypassed your neutral safety switch it should work.

Do you have power to the red/yellow wire? Clipping those wires shouldn't effect anything they just control the power/Manuel automatic shift modes along with power for the lights for the shifter console.

Can you take a pic where you jumped your safety switch?

However I'm not 100% sure on this because I'm working on the same issue myself right now and I just briefly looked at some diagrams lastnight. Hope this helps I'll look into it more tonight.

It doesn't sound like you jumpered pins 11 & 12 on AT B15 connector. Without doing this, the car will not start. You don't need to hook up a starter interlock relay with the clutch switch, but as I mentioned, you do need to jumper pins 11 & 12.

Read over my write-up on this specific topic and check out the wiring diagrams.

You should be ok with the AT/MT identifier pin, because the Hitachi ECU's don't require a wire to be there when they are in MT mode.

I did this swap a couple months ago It went flawless for me I just wired my automatic transmission harness to my manual one proper but I just don't have back up lights but that's cause of a broken wire and I looked at the pin out diagram that legacy777 posted with a manual

She lives! I just didn't have the starter plugged in all the way... Whoops! Anyway now it's pouring smoke out of the passenger side. Hard to tell if it's built up grime or a bad head gasket. Time for a compression test...

What kind of smoke? White? Blue? Grey?
