Please HELP weird starting issue...

So I go to start my car today after leaving it parked for like 10 hours for school. It was super cold in Denver today and I have had this issue happen before when it was cold. Anyways, i go to start my car and after the starter motor spun once, my hand slipped off the key. This initiated the CEL, and i tried starting my car again countless times with it not sparking at all and just spinning. I tried jumping it, and a clutch start, still no response. I decided that it was flooded, and me and a friend went to get food to wait it out a bit. I come back, try starting it for about 20 seconds, nothing. I try again for about 45 seconds, and she barely came back to life with a large puff of smoke coming out the exhaust. I drove it home with no CEL showing, and it seemed to be ok.

This issue has happened in the past and I dont know if my hand slipping right as the starter turned ended up flooding it???? My leggy is my DD and I can't afford to not have it running for work and school ect... Has anyone else seen an issue like this in the past? Any advice if this happens again.

Thanks in advance..

u tried checking the codes? 2 green wires under the steering column hook em together and turn the key to the on position and count the flashes. 2 digits count the longer flashes as tens place and shorter as ones. didnt feel like finding the link so i just typed it. and a bunch of starting issues are caused by temp sensor but just get the codes for now

Yeah, try checking the codes. The black connectors are what you want to use for stored codes.
