LGT gears in SS 5mt

Anybody ever got around to trying to swap over the LGT gears into a Tleg 5mt? All my WRX friends are running these with no problems so far. I know there is more to the swap than just the 1-4th gears, main shaft and syncros. One of the shifter forks gets swapped too.
This seems like a good upgrade for our transmissions, and I think Flatirons Subaru sells a kit, I just don't know all the parts in the kit, nor do I want to pay $1,300 for it. A better option might be to find a used LGT trans and swap over the stuff necessary.
Anybody know an accurate parts list for this swap?

Pretty sure it's possible but you could just swap in the entire LGT transmission. Matt Monson, rallispec, and/or flatirons would know exactly what you need to change the parts.

Yeah the trans could be had cheaper along with matching diff and axles.

If anyone wants even lower gearing, the Outback XT had a 4.44 FD ratio vs. the LGT's 4.11.
And if using the entire transmission, there's a speedo gear that needs added.
Nasioc has a couple of threads on it.

If you guys read my whole post, I talk about getting a used LGT tranny and moving the internals over to save money. SO getting all the stuff required for the swap will not be cheaper then just the trans itself.
If you swap the whole tranny, you need the tranny, rear diff, slave cylinder and different style clutch and you need to split the case anyways for the speedo gear....too much stuff that I already have done to the car and more $$$ then I want to invest.
To me it still seems beneficial to swap internals. I already have the case in pieces as it is.
In the past, I have heard (not 100% positive) that Flatirons isn't very quick to divulge the parts list of the kit unless you buy from them. I'll try and see though, I was just curious to see if anybody has done this.

I see. Well, I would expect that you would be able to use the forks and levers and stuff from the LGT without needing anything else. You can probably even just swap the front drive pinion in the main shaft and drop everything right in.
From what I can tell all the little parts you need to use the gearset are the syncros and hubs because they changed a little, but you are getting all that anyway with the transmission.
So you would want new front, rear, and probably axle seals, a new big nut for the front drive pinion, and that's about it. You might even be able to make yourself a "hybrid" case and use the newer rear transfer and tailshaft housings, and shifter stuff.

The hybrid case is interesting...I think I'll be on the look out for a LGT transmission.

Got an answer on this from Flatirons. It is possible to run the LGT gear in our 5mt cases, but unfortunately due to a case redesign in 99, we would not be able to have reverse. Kind of kills it for me, but might work for a track only car.

Can the case be machined to accomodate reverse or is it just physically not able to fit the extra gear?

I didn't ask them about it, but if I had to guess...possibly the location of the reverse on the LGT main shaft could be offset from the location on the Tleg main shaft, therefore not making contact between the location of the gear in the case and on the main shaft. I'll look closer into this at some point...possibly if I have a chance to compare main shafts.
