... I joined this board. Actually, ten years and a week or so.

My first post

Since then, I've joined about 6 or 7 other Subaru forums (and a few non-Subaru as well), none of which I even lurk on anymore, let alone post anything.

Thanks, everyone, for making this the only automotive forum on the Internet that I feel like I can call home.

Thank you for your helpful posts! I've been using this board for probably 7 years now and I'm on about 30+ other boards and many of those are subaru forums. I'd be lost without them.

I don't call this home as I have a few other Subarus and I have to go to other forums,BUT

This is the EASIEST place to get information, meet people and NOT be surrounded by douche bags.

Yeah....this is definitely the only forum I frequent and post regularly any more. I just don't have the time any more. It certainly is probably one of the best forums for getting information and having good members.

If the Search function is correct, my 1st post was May 2007. 6+ years later, 90% of my Subaru knowledge has come from here. Mr. Legacy777/Josh being a major contributor. Many others, some whom have moved on, have saved my arse, too.

The only 'down' is that this site fueled my boost addiction....turbo swap/Revtronics/EJ20G tune/5-speed swap/new pistons (yeah, in that order ).

This is the only forum I come on. Everyone is pretty considerate and not stuck up pretentious dicks like Nasioc. I've only been on here a couple years but love it and Josh is the man.

CJ, you're still around and she's not. Don't know what all went down then (re: Laurel) but I get the feeling there was major drama. Something this site is mostly free of.

Lots of time has gone by Kimo lol. But this board has taught me a lot. I really appreciate the group of regulars we have now. From the guys before my time to the newest arrivals. We have all helped each other out whether its on the board or in person.

There are very few things more frustrating on a forum than a condescending "why don't you look for it yourself?" post. Honestly, as long as the person asking the question isn't abusive about it, why not help out if you can. If you can't help out it seems like it takes more effort to make a snide remark than just ignoring the post in the first place. When i ask a question, I've already looked, as i suspect many people have. Granted i might have been able to do a better job searching, or just missed the thread, but asking is always a last resort. members of this forum have always been good about answering questions without being self righteous douche cakes.

Cj, her posts came off hostile, had my first experience been like that i might not have been around for long. Props to you for shrugging it off.

Actually....that's a more dangerous statement then you think. Usually the ones that know their shit can be a little overbearing and you are then vying for dominance in the "car world". It doesn't usually work out well. There are certainly exceptions....but I haven't found many.

Totally agree with Josh... actually having a relationship with a girl that's into cars is not what it's cracked up to be.

Yup....I dated a girl with an S2000 several years back and she thought it was soo superior. It wasn't until after she had a wreck due to hydroplaning from rear bald tires (which I mentioned several weeks prior to her wreck) did she even let me drive the damn thing.

Probably the best kind of car chick is someone that appreciates cars, is not crazy into all the "scene bs", and has a mild understanding of them and the mechanics.
