Q If I put crushed ice in the intercooler tank, will this overload the
system with water or do I need to take some water out first?
A. You will need to remove some water since you should be topped off
Q. Also, will I have to wait for the ice to melt or will it flow in crushed
form?
A. It will flow if it is like a snowcone. It may be a better idea to get
one huge chunk and use it to cool a bucket of water then pour in the
freezing water, but all this is very temporary and is only good for a very
quick sprint.
Q. What is
acetone?
A. What is acetone? (From Ask Jeeves) C3H6O
(Pronounced as'ah-tone) Acetone is a manufactured chemical that is also
found naturally in the environment. It is a colorless liquid with a
distinct smell and taste. It evaporates easily, is flammable, and dissolves
in water. It is also called dimethyl ketone, 2-propanone, and
beta-ketopropane. Acetone is used to make plastic, fibers, drugs, and other
chemicals. It is also used to dissolve other substances (cleaner).

aybe we'd better stick with water, or you can get much the same effect with
alcohol. You just have to be kind of careful when dealing with volatile,
flammable liquids. I repeat again, this has to be for a very short term
blast. If your pump is arcing any, that's exactly what may happen to your
intercooler. In fact, for a very short pass like we're talking about, and
I'm talking about a few seconds, just disconnect the hoses and cap them
off, disconnect the pump power, and use the tricky liquid cold stuff poured
directly into your intercooler. When you're ready to go home flush the
system with water and live happily ever after. But hey, all this is really
crazy unless you are trying to find a few hundredths of a second in the
quarter mile. I can just see you going up like Wiley Coyote trying one of
his scams to catch the Roadrunner, then me trying to hide out from your
wife, girlfriend, or mom coming after me for ever turning you on to such
wild shit. Hey, you never saw any of this.
