As many of you know, i have a set of Legacy GT wheels on my wagon,
but i might be able to get a set of 2000 RS six spoke wheels as a
trade across deal, as the RS owner really likes the GT wheels.

The good thing is that the RS are 7" wide, whereas the GTs are only
6.5. If i can get a wider wheel, it's all the better.

Have a look at this photoshopped image and give me your honest
opinion:

I like the top ones... What ever they are. They look better IMO. But if
those aren't the wider ones, I would take the wider ones no matter.

Will the 7" rub?

The top ones are the GT wheels, 16x6.5.

The bottom are the RS wheels, 16x7.

The RS has more offset in order to fit under the wheel well and clear
the strut tower, but with coilovers and the slightly wider Legacy
fenders (i think) i could probably stick some 225s on if i was
feeling frisky (and had some extra cash).

I like the GT rims better... but I am sure that is
because I have them on my sedan, and I personaly think
they look more aftermarket than the RS rims.

Yea the GT Rims look alot better in my opinon. The RS rims don't look very stylish.

Hmm, no one seems to like the RS wheels, except me that is, I'd
definitely trade if I were you, BUT, what's the offset on those rims?
I just tried to get some 17"x7" - 215/40 wheels on my car, but no
go... they'd definitely rub the guard edges under heavy load. The et
on the rims we tried is 45, so tomorrow we'll roll the "lips" on my
rear guards to fit the wheels (TSW Evo-R). On the other hand, my wife
has a '96 Impreza SPW, and I think that the rear guards are a bit
wider on my Legacy, but that's just a guess...

No, not the only one - I like the RS wheels better too! They don't look so
delicate, more 'manly' ;-p

I am currently running 17 x 7 Speelines with 215/45/17 with absolutely NO
rubbing anywhere on my '92 Turbo Legacy, even during autocrossing. The key
is the offset .

I agree, a couple of questions still...

1. Have you rolled the guards ?
2. What's the et on your rims ?

I just postponed my "guardrolling" until monday, I'd really like to
know by then if 17x7 with 215/40 will fit 100% after that operation...

Thanks for the opinions on wheels.

Most people like the GT as opposed to the 6-Spoke RS.

I'm going to swap them on tonight and perhaps even drive around with
them for a week or so, to see if i like them in person. I'll post
some more shots that are real instead of photoshopped.

FYI, the GT wheels on the top are the ones i have on already.
