so....... Ive tried to look around the forums but cant find anything to what i am experiencing... please help

so about a week ago i started up my car and puffed out white smoke for a few minutes then clears up, idle is really choppy like a misfire new plugs wire and diamond coil didn't seem to help any. Took her out for a drive and hit boost a few times then started to see smoke pouring out of my hood so stopped took a look under the hood and oil was everywhere and dipstick was about 1/4 inch out of the hole. cleaned all that up drove it nice home and parked shut her off and looked under the car and it was like a water fall of oil. saw no place of where it was leaking out of but haven't gotten to the shop to get it up on the jacks. looks to be coming from the bottom side of the block but not sure. please guys help me out i never post in here cause i usually do a search and find what i am looking for but this problem is confusing and a little scary. The father says my rings are shot to shit and time for a rebuild but i don't have another DD. let me know what your guys thoughts are on what to check. oh yeah no CEL and idk about timing i am going to check in the morning thanks guys

looks like a rebuild is in order anyway. if it's how you say it is then your seals are gone anyway and ought to have it rebuild while it's out and being torn apart anyway... so i say rebuild it and use public transport if you can... may be able to get a decent deal on a rental car.

yeah public trans dosent come out my way at 430 when i go to work lol i was afraid it be the seals i guess imma look for a new truck on monday been contemplating it for a while.... sad wagon just did manual swap and now this yahhh

Sounds like your rings are indeed shot. Get a compressor tester for cheap fom autozone and check it. Or a leak down tester but sounds like all that boost is pushing by the rings forcing oil out the dipstick. Happened to me when I blew my first engine. Emtpied about 4 quarts of oil on the 20 min drive home. Don't drive it anymore or you may toast the cylinder walls as I did.

yeah im looking into seeing how much a 30k motor from foreign engine inc is going to cost me to get on my tax return that way i have no worries for a year lol then when i get shop cleaned out i can rebuild this one from the ground up the way i want it to.

Well you won't find the same engine from an importer as they only had it here like they only have the ej257 here but you can get an ej20g/k but it won't be a drop in procedure by any means. Read through my lengthy build thread for details. It'll probably run you $1,200-2k as well. Better off sourcing a used ej22t or rebuikd yours.

well hell i guess imma be looking for a new lego soon this one might go up for sale... how much you guys suggest for it with bad rings its in good shape besides tear in driver seat

its a 94 lego TW i put in a 94 lego manual trans in it. its got 6k hids in it with led yellow blinkers up front and led red blinkers in back with the yellow thing in the back taken out by baking the taillights(no leaks yahh) sunroof leaks a bit needs a new seal. motor is all stock besides diamond coil pack. just put in new plugs and wires with new gaskets on turbo. has 2002 wrx a pillar gauge pod. nicest interior i have seen after owning 8 legos. shifter linkage has all new bushings in it so shifts like butter. open 4.11 diff in the back and new exedy clutch and pressure plate. has a little dent on passenger side by the tail light. everything works just needs new rings. all stock exhaust. has 194k miles on her. and forester with hancook tires with very little wear on them.

Why not find a cheap EJ20G to swap in instead of rebuilding?

im looking into it but time is of a issue lol not alot of people around here even shops know about our cars lol
