Hello every one. First post here. Well i have been hiding for a little while but am in need of some expert advise, i have a 92 leg turbo wagon, 5mt swapped, 257 block, 25d heads with a td04. Runs amazing but will hardly ever idle correctly. Cold idle is 200 rpm if at all. No cels but sometimes throws code 31. I have adjusted the tps a million ways to sun down. Basically if i adjust it tospec it wont idle below 2500. Right now i have tps adjusted so it doesnt even hit the idle switch (only way i can get it to idle normal when warm).... will post pics sometime soon. Any advise at all is appriciated!!

You shouldn't mess with your tps. Just get another throttle body and tps and try replacing your iac instead but your idle screw may have been messed with too. Don't mess with that either.

Been thinking about trying complete new tb. Current has no provisions for the idle screw. Also when i do have the tps adjusted to spec it will instantly throw the cel (31)
Ecu is stock to the car. Just your ordinary 22t ecu.

Sounds like your tps is adjusted wrong or maybe since the idle screw may have been messed with its off. Try another throttle body and then maybe tue iac if its still messed up.

What procedure are you using to adjust the TPS? This is really the only way the TPS should be adjusted.

If you're still getting a code 31 after that, then you should replace at least the TPS, but probably better to replace the entire TB with a good used one that has not had the idle stop screws adjusted.

Just for the sake of the original poster, and myself, is there a difference between the turbo and n/a throttle body?

Legacy777, i have been folowing the procedute you posted to a t. I dug thru my spare parts bin and found another complete tb that has the air screw. Will try swapping it out tomorrow to see if it helps my idle issues. Thanks for all the advise

I run a 98 25d intake with leg turbo tb and icv. I honestly am beliving i have wrong tb since my current has not been drilled and tapped for the idle air screw...
Im not scared to try pretty much anything at this point, i have completely built this car myself and many others so im not scared of it. I just want to the bottom of my idle issues..

new tb results in code 42. has also been common with the old tb.

Have you checked all the wiring from the TPS connector back to the ECU to make sure it is good and measures 0 ohms? I would suggest doing that and also verify that all the ECU pins are correct and match up with the ECU I/O diagrams.
