Wheel "Design" Log

I'm tossing around ideas of what (if anything) to do with my current wheels. Powder coating or plastidip or whatever. I'm trying to not look too ricey. Anyways, this is a log of those terrible, terrible, design ideas.
Comments and ideas appreciated.

Cheated on this one too, just inverted the colors to get an idea of what darker wheels would look like. Perhaps not the best representation.

Plastidip them. If they don't look good, just peel it off. Cheap and easy. Barely any prep work.

That may be worth it for a summer project. I don't know if i want black wheels or not, but maybe there's a lighter shade of plastidip, a gun metal or something like that.

Gold might look nice with that dark blue.

I vote 'yes'.
I was gonna suggest a darker shade to go with the color of your car.
At one time, I had a set of GT snowflake rims that I painted a gunmetal wheel paint and they looked pretty good. I could also suggest that, if you don't like the gold. And the nice thing about plasti-dip is that it comes right off if you don't like it.

Apparently with the metalizer, you're supposed to put down a plastidip base layer. I was thinking gunmetal instead of black, but i'm still not sure yet.

Here's gold metallizer. Not good enough with photoediting to change the color of my actual wheels, so i just used a set of mazda ones.

When i get some time, and conditions are good, we'll see how this goes.

So it begins.
Light first coat:
Second Coat:
Metallizer - Coat 1:
Metallizer - Coat 2:
Three or four coats of base charcoal plastidip took approximately 1 can. 2 coats of metallizer was practically nothing. I only had time to do the two front wheels today, so the legacy is sitting out in the driveway on jackstands...

I want your calipers!!
But i think they look good! Good color choice though, matches the car color pretty well. Clean leggy by the way

Haha, thanks. the calipers are just 03 WRX fronts that have been powdercoated. Nothing fancy.
Here's the most recent pictures of the wheels:
I'll try to get some close ups at various angles later when the light is better.
