I have an ecu from my 94 that i know works, have a 92SS w/ an ecu thats unproven. If i need to swap them out what might the differences be???

If they are both SS/turbo ECUs then there is no difference.

Yeah at/mt but its only a differencein the harness itself.

Can i just plug my 94 ecu in the 92 harness and run it?

If its turbo legacy ecu and haness, then yes you should be able to.

Just to clarify, all the turbo legacy ECU's are compatible and interchangable between the 91-94 MY's.
