is it possible to have 2 tps's go out back to back? the one installed when i had the motor done went out already. high idle and high rpm shifts.

Possible, but highly improbable.... Maybe something else is making the tps go bad?

Hmm my tps code is on all the time and I've replaced it twice now and its worse than the original and this one is brand new. If you figure it out post it up.

Yup a lot of bad tps but I think the problem is wiring, not the sensor.

I bet it didn't. They never do enough testing. Was it intermittent? They told me they fixed my truck before and made up some lie about the ecu pins being bent and I asked them if they test drove it and made sure it was at operating temp and they said yes. On my way home it started surging again and I knew they were full of shit and didn't warm it up all the way. It was only jerking once it was in open loop. Turns out it was melted wiring shorted out and they claimed they traced the harness from the maf sensor to the ecu. Yeah, right.

it was idling high at 1500 rpm and would shift at higher rpm's . it would shift at around 5000 rpm's.
