power steering rack

Hey guys my power steering rack has been slowly bleeding to death the last few years, Im finally gonna change it but need a little help as to what parts/ tools ill need.

I already have a brand new steering rack just need some informations on what else it is i need? Also any advice on how difficult this is would help. Thanks guys

To get the old steering rack out, you need to disconnect the steering shaft, tie rod ends, fluid lines, and then remove the clamps/brackets. It should come right out. Make note of the orientation of the steering shaft and spines on the rack so you can orient the new one in the same way so your steering wheel is centered properly.

i wont need any new rod ends? Ill just tie the steering wheel off in the inside so it doesnt move. I dont need to remove the half shafts do it? just the rod ends form the hub right?

If the new rack has tie rod ends that are in good shape, you should be able to reuse them. If you think they are questionable, now is certainly the time to replace them.

No, you shouldn't have to touch the half shafts.
