Engine out of a car that was mudded. 90% sure i need to just replace the whole intake assembly with my spare 750 idle and sounds like it wants to die at temperature and code 35. Anyone know the tools i'll need? Already have new gaskets. And where is the coolant temp sensor?? I bought a 21210aa030 so i can replace it just for s&g but i can't find the damn thing.

Are you asking what tools are needed to replace the intake manifold? All you really need is basic tools (sockets, pliers, screwdrivers) to get the intake manifold off.
Is this on the turbo legacy? It's below the coolant resevoir tank on the driver's side of the coolant crossover.

I have the thermostat, not temp sensor, my error, yes it's the tleg. And i was more looking for a list. Prob a 12mm and an extention, a flathead, reg and needlenose pliers. Any idea on the coughing and sputtering?

So I had something similar happen - right after I changed fuel rails. One of the rails wasn't seated in the manifold properly, and I had hissing and sputtering at idle.

So are you still wanting to know where the thermostat goes, or did you figure that out? It's in the housing where the lower radiator hose connects to the water pump.

Tore it all down yesterday the hard way lol. Replaced the pcs and some vac lines while im in there. The iac looks fine, not gummed up, replaced gaskets all around. Would it have been my throttle cables? cause they were loose/ unadjusted... Found a broken vac line causing the hiss, replaced. Not sure what the problem could be now...

No, throttle cables being a little loose should not have caused that.

Any ideas? Could it've been that leaky vac line?

Could it be maf related?

I think a broken vacuum line certainly could be causing the hissing. When you fixed the vacuum line, did the hissing go away?

Apart till tues rough idle is my main concern though. Was something to do w/ the injectors/ fuel i think
