I think I need to replace my torque converter. Tranny been getting stuck in 4. Will know more tomorrow, but I'm curious if upgrading to a lighter fly wheel while I've got access to t would make much difference in power/engine efficiency? What do you guys think?

A light weight crank pulley and FW have about the same gains IMO. A little crisper throttle response and rev gains, nothing crazy. I did notice a difference on my N/A wagon. Dont run a LW FW and LW Crank pulley together, its one or the other. If you need to replace your flywheel, then id try it out. Otherwise if your flywheel is in good condition the gains are not worth buying a new flywheel if yours is perfectly fine.

Ok that's exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you.

If your tranny is an auto then there isn't a light weight flywheel for it. Those are for the manuals with a clutch. you said you need to replace your torque converter and auto's have those.

Very true I didn't catch that and re-reading your posts I can tell you have an Automatic. You can still use a lightweight pulley, Perrin makes them and so does Grimmspeed.

There is always the UR underdrive pulley. I have it on my car with a lightened flywheel with no problems over about 4 years.

Just to clear things up, the light weight flywheel does typically remove more rotating mass and as a result typically gives quicker acceleration. The light weight crank pulley does help as well, but its not quite as noticable as the LW flywheel.
The LW pulley on an automatic does help, so if you want to do that, you can....but it's won't do anything to help your specific trans problem.
BTW, I split your posts about the transmission issues into a new topic as it doesn't have anything to do with exhaust upgrades.

thanks Josh.. Always forgetting to put things in the right place.
turns out i wont be replacing my torque converter, the tranny is starting to go. Probably will be replacing or having rebuilt in 30k miles or so! any thoughts?

Honestly, I'd probably just suggest getting another used one. I honestly don't hear a lot of good stories from people about rebuilt transmissions. The problem is either the shops are sloppy or just don't know all the parts that well. If you know of a good trans shop, then rebuild might be better, but if not, I'd look at lower mileage used transmissions.
