A/C is currently INOP!

In the midst of trying to resolve a hard start issue my A/C started cutting off as in no blower function or air flowing from any vents......

So I hooked up mu gauges and checked my pressures, swapped around relays that control the a/c functions in the relay/fuse box and also inspected any loose or bad connections within the a/c circuit. No issues found.

I removed the glove compartment to allow access to whatever solenoid is under there that controls the blower/fan?

I turned the max a/c on and looked under the steering column to inspect the vent actuator rod thing to make sure there was nothing blocked off... kind of jiggled the assembly with no luck, highly doubt this is the issue anyways.

My compressor is engaging and the system has a good charge.... it just seems as none of the buttons on the control panel work.

Found a old thread that had some good info where Legacy777 found that there are bad/soldering issues on the back of the panels.

Also found within the same thread that there is some sort of solenoid or "thermo" something that can be jumped and has fixed some a/c issues with our cars. anyone know what im talking about? I cant find the thread again lol

also, forgot to mention I DO NOT hear any solenoids clicking as mention in some threads. Also I can hear the solenoid under the dash clicking when I turn on the a/c and turn it off so im pretty sure that that's ok.

here is one of the threads.....

when I tried the actuator back and forth it seemed as if something was going to break. it make a cracking sound so I stopped before I broke it. it doesn't seem like its supposed to move free.

I would suspect you have the same issue as I did and the solder joints in the control unit are broken. You can either take the unit out, find the bad joints and resolder them or get another control unit.

I wouldn't replace the control unit with junk yard parts. This issue is something that is common on this unit and given the age, you're just as likely to get a unit with the same issue.

Redo the soldering or if you feel uncomfortable soldering circuit boards, PM me and we can work something out.
