In rewiring some things in my car, I'm wondering what you guys use when you have to run wires / cables thru the firewall on the passenger side -- is there an easy way through or should I just plan on running all wiring through the little grommet behind the pedals on the driver's side like I'd been doing? I see some rubber-booted holes through the firewall on the passenger side but they all look to be coming in behind the dash where I can't easily get to them.

Yeah I always just use that little grommet behind the pedals. Ive never had to run wires to the passenger side, but I think there is a hole that you can use to access that side of the firewall. Maybe someone can chime in on that.

Is that the one below and almost behind the brake booster? That one is a real bitch to get to. I am running my boost hose and my AFR wiring through that hole and it was not fun installing that.

I just drilled a hole and ran my boost gauge hose and afr wires through and sealed it up.

Take the fender off and you should see a grommet

I used the hole for the AC box drain hose but I deleted my AC so don't think that would work for you.

I drilled a hole through the rubber grommet where the AC lines come through. This was kind of a bitch but did work. There is a plastic grommet in the fenderwell that I ran the EGT wiring through as well.

I deleted my ac too but don't think I want wiring coming through the hole where the ac hoses used to reside. I have a plug there now and a spare in case I decide to give it a try but that's right behind the downpipe and its in plain view and I'm trying to clean the bay up.

I just pulled +12v for a second power outlet + stereo the other day. I picked up a grommet with a hole in the middle from auto parts store. It's labeled as Chrysler, GM or something and its like $3. Just tape around the hole on the inside to keep the engine noise out. When I had the plug removed, boy did I hear everything under the hood.

Undo the carpet as much as needed, then push the plug out. From the inside of car into the engine side, shine a flashlight. It's just by the steering.

Push something like a speaker cable or coax cable and you'll find it easily. If you need to pull from engine side to inside, tape it up to the coax/speaker cable neatly so there's no jagged edges along the joint, then pull it in.

Application permitting, I prefer this spot over the A/C drain. That one puts it right above the first catalytic converter, so its getting exposed to heat.
