will a 2000 2.5 rs 255 fuel pump work in my 92 SS?

I wouldn't...that pump may not flow enough. Injectors on the 2.5 are probably <300cc, and yours (if stock) are 360cc.
Physically, it'll probably work but may require an install kit.
EDIT: Missed the '255'...should work.

its a 255 walboro. stock FP was upgraded to this in the RS... i talked to a guy a PRE he said everything from 1992 to 2002. weather it was a impreza or legacy everyting is the same. not to sure but well find out.

The above statement is not true.
However, the walbro 255 should work fine in your turbo legacy. Depending or not if the electical connector adapter is there, you may need that.
