The 91 I sadly had to scrap. I do have a lot of parts for it laying around still. There was just to much rust on the under car part of the chassis to many holes in the unibody where I would of been fine if I was going to drive it daily but I have been planning on going to the track and maybe some Auto X/Rally X So the 92 was in a lot better shape and a lot less rust and already had a 2.5 rs trans swap into it. I to love the color of the 91 its called Slate metallic they offered it for 1st gens but the most common color I see for most first gens is white. I has a little fender bender about a month ago and damage most of my front bumper and right fender so I picked up a shell for cheap that is a rolling chassis so no drive train or engine I'm just planning on using it to fix my car with a few extra benefits and a nice clean set of stock wrx wheels that are in great shape

So update on the Subaru project I have been keeping busy with work and haven't really had time to post up some pictures but I have done a few mods to the car since I got it a year ago and thought I would post them. The first thing that I have done was upgrade my stock scoop to the wrx scoop. I noticed that the intercooler doesn't line up as well on the 92. The opening for the stock scoop seems to be set back a few more inches on the 92 then it was on the 91. It still end up working out well on the 92 just had to do a little modification on the hood to get some better air flow Also I ended up offsetting the licence plate in from the make better air flow for the possible front mount that will go in the car. The front grill insert is actually a base L grill that will be receiving some love here soon and its going to get painted to match the car better
The next 3 pictures show me adding the subaru badge on the legacy. I ended up saving them off my 91 and notice that the 92 plus legacy did not have the subaru badge in the back plus the legacy badge under the side glass on the rear quarter. I ended up prepping the badges and cutting the excessive double face tape with a X-acto knife. On the Subaru badge on the rear it had 3 stand off that went into plastic hold tabs in the trunk I didn't save the plastic tabs so I ended up drilling slightly smaller wholes where the stand offs went and was able to attach the badge to the car. I liked how it turned out and I like the look of the more original badge
I ended up upgrading my ignition system to a MSD dis-2 box I got a really good deal on it from a member here. I ended up trying to find a place to put it and when I was swapping fenders one day I saw the room on the drivers side behind the fender. I liked this spot since it was right next to the battery the msd box will have a short path to the battery and I could wire it up quick. The coil pack is a diamond coil pack that was wired into the msd box. I was able to tuck the wiring around in the engine bay to keep it looking clean and hard to tell that it was running msd. I did notice that the car does run smoother on the msd and the big plus is that I have ran a wire from the box thru a switch and the clutch switch so I can now have a two step. I don't recommended testing to see if it works in a garage it gets kind of loud lol
Last but not least I ended up upgrading my brakes. I am currently running stock brake hardware set up both front a rear. I ended up needing two new calipers up front. I'm running ebc usr series slotted rotors both front and back and ebc green stuff pads that I order thru amazon. I double check the parts before I ordered of corse and got the correct parts. I ended up bleeding all my brakes and ran out of time but I was planning on running new ss braided brake lines. Its almost like a night a day difference in my braking performance.
The build will keep progressing I do have most of the needed stuff to upgrade to a 550 Rob tune just need to save up the money to get the final bits. For the build I pickup the grimmspeed etw up pipe with a tial 44mm wastegate. Im planning on doing a tdo5-16g with front mount intercooling and running a aftermarked electronic boost controler/ boost gauge from AEM Also future plans are to install a set of 04 plus forester xt complete struts and forester trailing arm brackets to give me a 2 inch plus lift and make room for the graval tires for some fun graval road/rally racing

Just a update on the project. After I got done putting my car back to stock front end I really didnt like the look of the grill on the car. The grill is off a base L model legacy sedan and it just didn't look right to me so one day I chose to paint it flat black to make it look better
Doing some prep work on the grill to get it ready for some primer. Ended up washing it with soap and water then taking some 400 grit sandpaper and wet sanded the grill smooth
After a few coats of primer filler I toke and sanded down some of the primer with some 400 grit sandpaperto smooth things out so the grill was just right for the paint.
Started off light ended up doing about 3-4 coats of flat black spray paint. End results turned out really nice not to flashy but fits into the car a lot nicer
The finished product reinstalled into the car and unmasked. Im really happy with the end results. I might take the time to mask off the car around the trim that goes around the car. A lot of people do the "electrical tape mod" to hide the chrome in the trim and make the car look to me to be an improvement. Also I want to mask the trim that goes around the window and paint that flat black as well. In time I'm sure this car will come together nicely but ill be happy with what ever improvements I make as I go

Nice work! I like the location for the MSD DIS-2 ignition! That actually may be a good alternative for me in my quest to go to individual coils. I can mount the MSD in the fender and build a bracket/plate to mount the coils where the MSD currently is located. Hmmmmm

Yeah the location for the box worked out really well I made sure that I checked fitment a few times before I mounted it. The nice thing and pain in the butt part is location. 1. Its a nice way to keep it close to the battery for the best possible power and ground. 2.The location keeps the engine bay looking a lot cleaner with no additional boxes and you can tuck the wires and route them the same as the factory harness to keep it clean looking. 3. The only down fall I have found so far is that when is comes to the two step/loud fun bangs and turbo goodness is when it comes to setting the rpm for when the two step kicks in. I had to pull the fender off several time to move the switches around to get the box to set the rpm at a good point so I would bog when the clutch came out. 4 There is a noticeable difference in idle quality the engine seems to run a lot smoother and I don't seem to run into much spark wash/ or blowing out the spark while under boost. it seems to allow the spark to fight the pressures better. Over all I would say for the price I was able to pick it up for and it being plug and play it was one of the better mods I've done to the car and should help we when I get the rob tune

Yeah, I've been very happy with mine and I've had it since 2002. I'm a firm believer it helps with the spark under boost. I was running 19-20 psi without any issues.
