what does the "touring" mean

what does the touring mean for the tw's? is it a suspension package or what

I believe it engine package. It's the same as the ss but a fancy name that don't trigger sports car insurance, I may be wrong though.

It's just a name. The sedan turbo legacies were called sport sedans, while the wagons were called touring wagons. It was just a naming differentiation for the turbo cars.

In Japanland and elsewhere, the Legacy Turbo wagon was called the GT - grand turismo or grand touring. The turbo legacy sedan was called the RS.

actually im pretty sure all auto sedans and wagons were GT's while manual sedans and wagons were RS's
