Manuel shifter assembly plate?

Hi there everyone!

I have a simple/maybe difficult question.

In a factory 5mt 1993 legacy SS the rubber shifter seal thing, does it have a metal ring/rectangle plate?

Because i removed the old auto shifter and it nicely bolts to the body with a rubber seal with the actual shifter assembly as this plate.

I would think this seal would get the same treatment for both MT and AT cars?

This NOT the shifter boot for a MT car!!!!

Thanks

Tom

RU referring to this part:

If so, RU stating the AT metal bracket doesn't fit on the 5-speed? I don't remember what I did on my swap.

Well from what i have seen and worked with the 5mt should have a diff plate to hold the rubber seal.

The AT shifter is that plate/ total shifter assembly.

So i dunno. I think im going to go hit a wrecker and scope out some 5mt subi's!

Yes, there should be a separate metal plate that keeps the boot clamped to the body.

Hmmm. I need this metal plate too, apparently. I though the rubber boot just screwed in there :-/

Yes.

There is a MT shifter boot plate for any MT subaru!

I just went to my dealer and got me the correct one for my car!

Its probably the same boot plate for any MT car.
