I'm always wondering what my legacy will look like with certain rims. Many Subaru factory rims are available on the cheap and look good, some better than others. There are some from other brands as well that will fit. Some rims don't look good on the 1st Gens, no matter how much you like them otherwise. For example, I love the 18 spoke lace rims on the 97 - 04 Legacies, but I don't like the way they look on 1st Gen Legacies. Similarly, there are plenty of rims which look very plain, in my opinion, on the cars that are originally equipped with them, yet look great on a 1st Gen Legacy. The 17's that come on 2005 up Outbacks are a good example. Anyway, I think it would be great if we could have a thread where people post up pictures of their 1st Gen Legacies with a bunch of different rims.

Actually, the 18 spokes lace rims look pretty good to me on first gens when they are painted black.

I think they look great in silver on white or silver first gens. But otherwise I think they make the car look dated.

Thank you for the compliment. Right now I'm wondering what my 93 SS would look like with 17" five spokes from a 2005 Outback wagon. I've seen a few with WRX bugeye rims, and while it's not my favorite, I think they are nice in gunmetal and black. I think RS 6-spokes are some of the nicest rims on these cars, and wonder why they weren't equipped that way from factory. They look to me like they were made for this car.

Here's mine with Bugeye Outback Sport 16s. I'm on 04 STI suspension as well. Excuse the paint job.

That was useful. Unfortunately however, a bunch of the pictures are not visible to me. Of the factory Subaru rims, I think I like RS 6-spokes best. I'm pretty sure that I would like most of the 2008 up WRX rims. I also liked the Forester S 5-spokes, a rim that I had not considered before. WRX rims are pretty nice but not my favorite. Like the Legacy 18 spokes, I like the WRX rims in gunmetal and black much better than in silver.

I liked the rs 5 spokes better than the 6

JDM/EDM 17 inch legacy wheels. Pretty much look like the USDM WRX wheels in 17 inch. They come in Silver, gold and bronze. I have a set of the silver and bronze.

Scroll down halfway down the page and you'll see a list of all factory rims that have a 5x100 bolt pattern. In addition, this list gives you the hub bore diameter. This site even sells you the adapters for different wheels as well. I did not see 5 x 114.3, however.

The adapters seem to be sized 5 x 112 and 5 x 115. However they have a page for 5 x 114.3, which supposedly shows the adapters that are compatible with that bolt pattern.
