ok so i have a 94 legacy wagon 2.2L non turbo, i recently had a no start issue. i replaced the fuel pump thinking that was the problem, well now it starts, barley. it takes about 10-15 seconds of cranking before it starts(cranks very strong) then when it does catch the idle fluctuates from about 350-400 to 1000 constantly. i believe the fuel pump relay is to blame because, when the key is in the on position not running i hear a click randomly from the dash. with the click i hear the pump turn off and the check engine light come on. does that sound like the pump relay? if so what is the best way of getting to it? i would REALLY prefer not pulling the dash, any help would be greatly appreciated

You mentioned the check engine light comes on, does this happen when the engine dies or is it still running?

As for getting to the fuel pump relay. I think some have said they were able to get to it without pulling the dash (I personally don't see how).

Yeah, that's the exact same thing I did with my white wagon.
