Aftermarket weld in cats

Been looking into taking off my stock catted dp as I think it may be all broken up inside and clogged. I have a Perrin devorced dp I'm thinking of putting on and just adding a high flow weld in cat in the mid pipe. Anyone ever used one? I get a idle and high idle sniffer test for emissions and need the cat to pass. Been looking into this http://m.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-710 ... Mgod2TwAUg think it will flow good and its ment for obd1 car. Any other obd1 high flow cats anyone knows of that work for around that price?

Any sort of high-flow weld-in cat should work fine, there's plenty of options out there. I prefer the MagnaFlow spun-metal substrate like here:

My '94 Legacy passed sniffer emissions tests just fine with a catless exhaust here in WA, but we don't have an inspection or visual test at all.

My emissions were just fine without cats. I actually scored better without them. The problem is they did a visual test. You should be good as long as they don't do a visual test.
