So I'll be picking these up in a few days and wanted to find out exactly what parts/top hats are needed for these to fit.

The car they are going on
And any pics of other leggys running the same suspension would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact same set up except with tein springs, then swapped for WRX springs. If memory serves me correctly i didnt have to do anything. Except mount it.

Gotta swap the rear top hats for 90/91 legacy rears, then they'll bolt right in, assuming you have 04 STi struts.

Definitely 04 sti. The rear tops are not the right bolt pattern for the chassis. Use 90-91 mounts or you are going to have to drill/file the holes.

These are 05 sti suspension if that changes anything! Anybody have any sedan pics so I can see how it's going to look?

It changes the way the fronts mount up. You'll have to make a new lower hole in the strut, there is a write up somewhere on here.

If youre still curious about ride height, you can check my build journal since I have the 04 red struts and springs on my ss.

Thanks but i passed on getting those Red's. I'm now curious what 02-03 Tein springs look like on stock legacy struts cause i have a set sitting in my garage...

I don't know what the ride height will be on your sedan. I don't know if the ride height would be reduced evenly compared to OEM 02-03 springs. When I had 0203 stock springs on my car the rear sat lower than the front and I wasn't happy with that. So if you get the tiens, be prepared to have the back sit lower than the front. Obviously on a wrx the ride height would be the same for the most part, it was just different on my car. BUT this was on my 91 wagon.

Okay... Finally decided that i want KYB AGX's so i sold the Tein springs and picked up some H&R springs. My question now is what parts will i need. Will i be able to use my current top hats or will i need 90-91's?

If the strut/spring is for a WRX you will still need to use the 90/91 top hats in the rear, fronts still bolt right up.

What did those come off? If its a gc8 then you don't have to change anything.
As an aside, the 90-91 rear tophats only work with certain year impreza springs, the sticky has the info.

Those struts came off of a 98 outback. And after checking the kyb website, they have 90-94 legacy agx struts. Would i need new top hats or could i use my old ones?

You can reuse your tophats.

When i built my suspension the second time, i quit using the stock crap and upgraded to group N's let me tell you noticeable difference.

Devilzdriver, do you have a source for group n rears for our cars? Fronts are the same as later cars, but the dealership told me they couldn't get rears anymore (gc8 application).

So i purchased some KYB GR-2's front & back. My question is, will i be able to use my existing top hats or will i need new ones?
