"Finally bowing out" manual transmissions? They make it sound like a good thing?

How terrible were Subaru's sales in '05 when everything they sold came with an option turbocharger and manual trans? That was the company I fell in love with. I wish I knew whether they just don't care about me anymore, or they are simply being killed by tightening regulation (I know they have no super high economy model to buffer their cafe number).

Yeah.....I agree it looks better in the front end compared to the out-going model. But it's still not that good looking and as I mentioned of FB, the front looks like a Ford Fusion and rear like a Toyota Camry.

Whether CAFE and other regs are killing them or they are just surcombing to the masses....I find myself less interested in Subaru's new direction. It's a shame because there's really not a single NEW car out there that has everything I want. I want an AWD manual transmission 5-door/wagon that doesn't look like a turd. The out-going WRX kind of fit that bill, but now the regular impreza and cross tek are pretty much it....but neither "inspire" driving enthusiasm.

Meh. I guess the red flags going off in my head when they announced plans for significantly larger US sales in 07/08ish were going off for good reason. I hope their happy. There was more than standard AWD and space for dogs that made a Subaru a Subaru.

Conversely, GM seems to be cranking its most bitchin' lineup in history. Though I have no clue if their reliability ever caught up to their showroom appeal. But when I think of new cars I'd like to have, the majority of the entries are GM products

subytech's response is correct, and Motor Trend was completely wrong.

Google search "Subaru WVS29." That will give you more info about that recall.

Damn, improper lubrication is even worse than not having a fill hole.

The only thing worse than that is no 6MT at all.
