What would be the coolest replacement for a stock antenna for a 93 sedan, a shark fin or a carbon 5 in post or something else? Any ideas greatly accepted

Anything you do, you would likely have to drill a hole in the roof, which I don't know if I'd suggest just for looks.

I usually just run my antenna lower with a few inches sticking out vs. it out all the way. It looks much better. Here's a pic where you can see the antenna just barely up.

I saw a Perrin antenna once that was black 4in stub that looked as if it would mate up to the stock location. The guy on the forum was asking $40 for a while but said they retail $80. I thought it would look good matching the stock black trim.

I completely got rid of my antenna and hole. Tack welded a piece of sheet metal under it and filled it with bondo. I got a cheap electric ampered antenna and mounted it in my rear windshield. Paid 10 bucks or so on ebay.

I was thinking of a 5 in. carbon antenna as they just screw onto the stock antenna base. That way no drilling or removing of any stock parts other the metal antenna post, which I will keep on hand.

I am with cj only I haven't done it yet. I want to get rid of all the extraneous stuff on the outside.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys...I am still considering all options, but really don't want the "old fashioned" antenna

It's already installed. that project was finished, I think, half a year ago or more. The antenna works well, not perfect, but good enough to get radio. Sometimes it can be static sounding but I am not too worried about that, there are other stations. I may have some photos in my build journal.
