Question about struts that might sound odd

So I'm in need of some new struts, and was reading all the treads about what fits and what doesn't, that's not what I'm asking in this thread; but I'm was wanting to replace just the struts with new-er struts off of newer 90's model legacy's(95-99), will the spring rate on these be batter then my 93's? I would imagine they would as long as they don't have 100's of thousands of miles on the actual car.
Or would I benefit from just buying new struts?

Oh, and I'd rather keep the same ride height as well. So I'm assuming swapping them with legacy struts and not impreza or forester (my local yard doesn't keep a lot of the other two anyways.)

I would suggest just keeping your springs. If the 95-99 legacy springs come with the struts you could try them out and see how they compare, but I don't think there's a huge difference.

I would go a step further and recommend reusing your springs, AND getting brand new struts. Online prices for kyb stock replacements are very reasonable. They are rated at 15 percent stiffer than the non turbo struts so you get a nice handling bonus and still have a quality ride.

Will the kyb's that rockauto sells be the right struts? Recently bought a miata, so a lot of my time went to that.
