The sway bar should fit, I'm running an STi front sway bar with no issues.

The motor mounts will work also, I am running those mounts. All EJ motor mounts are the same fitment.

The STI bar is actually a bit wider than the 1st gen Legacy bar since the 2nd gen impreza sedans have a wider track. I read it fits if you bolt it to the outsides of the endlinks (the stock bar bolts to the inside).

I used the 20mm front sway bar from a 2nd gen WRX wagon, since it's bigger and the track width of that vehicle is the same as ours. So there is no interference issues on full lock going over bumps or what not.

The sway bars people are talking about here are from 2nd gen Imprezas, so from 02-07.

Lastly, the turbo and NA front sway bars are shaped differently, so you can't use a turbo on an NA car and vice versa. The rears fit better, but you might have to pound up the legacy's spare tire hump to make an Impreza bar fit.

I'm certain you can add a rear sway bar, though you'll likely have to swap to trailing arms from a 93-94 that had them. 90-92 also would work, but has obscure drop links that Subaru never used again. Ive swapped my 91 & 92's to the updated 93-94 design (just swapped over the trailing arms, the bar, C-links and the bar's brackets) and I never looked back.

If you want direct fit bars that will work, grab some from a junkyard 96-99 outback wagon. Those will be a big upgrade with no fitment issues. Adding a rear sway bar alone (from the Outbacks I metioned) will be a huge upgrade.

Rear lateral links need to change, which is what the swaybar endlinks attach to. Looking for "trailing arms" will not get you the right parts. Swaybar mounting brackets are also needed. The holes are there in the chassis for them. I have a thread around here somewhere about doing it, the pictures are probably broken though.

Lateral links need to be from:
92-99 Legacy
93-01 impreza
02-07 impreza/wrx wagon

In addition to the sedan/wagon differences on 2nd gen imprezas, the STI has different swaybars from the WRX. The front control arms have more caster which moves the endlinks forward, plus the rear lateral links, endlinks, and swaybar are different.

Whiteline does have swaybars that fit turbo and non turbo legacys front and rear available still:

BSF20Z - 22mm adjustable, for turbos
BSF19Z - 22mm adjustable, for non-turbos
BSR19XXZ - 22mm adjustable rear

No other sizes or non-adjustable bars are available any more.

Thanks for the correction Jamal. 1992 Legacy lateral links are still the old style, however. They are identical to 90-91 legacy lateral links

Oh, I was under the impression the split was 90-91 vs 92-94 like the rear strut tops/springs and facelift.

You definitely want the newer c-link style that looks like this:

that is a kartboy endlink and whiteline 22mm rear bar btw.

Also if you're going through the trouble to do this, put new bushings in the lateral links while you're at it. The whiteline set is like $80.

I looked in the parts book and Mike's right, the 1992 MY cars still had the older style drop links The 93-94 MY cars had the newer style C links.
