How to fix your sunroof!

Well after 8 years of owning a first gen I finally have a fully functioning sunroof. I just got off from work and didn't take any pictures but my old 90 LS has issues also so I will use that one for pictures.
I understand this thread is useless right now without a write up or pictures but I will update when I get the chance.
However, if you have questions feel free to ask and I should be able to answer them.

Mine leaked when I bought it. I lucked out as all I needed to do was recondition the stripping on the exterior seal and I didn't have any problems after that. Luckily no hose shrinkage or compromised seals. I was not looking forward to pulling everything out and resealing it!

Mine leaks. Guy who sold me the whole assembly resealed it but did a poor job. I've always wondered if I could buy a new rubber seal for the glass and achieve a better seal and not need to pull it apart and reseal it again.
How did you recondition your seal? I once read that Nissan sells a product that does just that.

My dad had some stuff that he brought over. I can find out what it was. I just applied it a few times throughout the day and it has been sealed since.
I brought it through a car wash after I had bought it and found out why they had it stored under a tarp. lol

Tony,
Out of curiosity, did you see/follow this thread in the sticky compilation?

It did see and wanted to update. Mine wasn't leaking though, well it was but fixed that too. Didn't realize that was a sticky. I'll have to read all the pages and see what else was in there. Once i get ahold of the other car you'll see how comprehensive my repair was.

If it isn't clicking might need to replace the relay behind the dash.

Look in the haynes if you have it. But it is on the left side behind the vent kind of. You can reach it if it has been messed with before. Otherwise it will still be connected to its bracket.

That's awesome. Now once you get the relay you can plug it in. If then when you use the switch and you hear the relay click listen for the motor. If the motor tries to move but nothing happens then the cables are siezed and we can mvoe to the next step. If the motor does nothing double check the connector at the driver drain and check that the motor is grounded and the motor plug is getting power.

If it has never been removed then you will probably have to pull the dash. The reason being the relay is clipped into a bracket. With the knee panel removed if you cram yourself upside down by the foot pedals and look up and right above the ECU you maybe be able to see it.
