Fuel chocking/VSS

I'm finishing up my 5 speed swap and having a few problems. My speedo cable isn't working but when I plug it I to the dash and twist the end of it where it connects to the trans mission the needle moves. So it should be a gods cable however when I plug it I to the transmission and drive the car the speedometer does t work still and the codes is still flashing.

it doesn't thread all the way in but my friend said his looks just like this. I don't know if this is the only problem or if something else would be causing it to not work .
Additionally when I'm driving it around to read codes sometimes it almost fuel cuts/ chugs for a couple seconds until I take my foot off the throttle completely. It doesn't happen every time only a few times. I don't really have a good idea of what would be causing that problem so any information or idea on what the problem could be would be nice

Autocorrect... But I think it may be a boost sensor. It happens when I get in to boost and that's the only time it happens

Take a pic of your vacuum lines going to the passenger strut tower, maybe one is broken or a sensor is bad.

Your drive gear in the transmission may be stripped.

Work on one problem at a time. Start with the speedo issue. If you can spin the end of the speedo cable and the speedometer works then as Jefferson pointed out the speedo gear in the transmission may be stripped. I'd suggest putting the car on jack stands and using a combination of good light and a mirror, see if the gear in the transmission moves when you rotate the wheels.

The needle moves when i spin the end of the cable and it's plugged into the dash and the gear moves too.

I guess I don't understand then. If you can make the speedometer work by manually spinning the cable and the plastic speedometer gear in the transmission spins then it should work. Are you sure you're installing the base piece into the transmission correctly? If you screw in the base piece to the transmission and rotate the wheels does the piece inside he base piece turn?

Yes it all turns/rotates josh. Does this mean the sensor/cable assembly he grabbed from junkyard is bad and just needs a new sensor piece that screws into trans?

Try rotating the speedo base piece and verify that the base and top part sticking out spins.
Can you take a picture or two of the speedo cable base piece that screws into the transmission. Please remove it from the transmission when you take the pictures.
