Installing the RobTune Eprom itself

So honestly I feel like a dick for not buying it directly from Rob but I found a deal where I got a chip (the one I need, setup for Yellow Top injectors, 7400rev limit, launch control) for a whopping $100.

Couldn't pass it up. But its the Eprom only, not installed. I have a Z4 ecu already and need to figure out how to install the chip. I was told to take it to a local electronics shop and have them install the socket. Is there any sort of installation guide or walkthrough that I could take a look at? I'm thinking I can just take it over to the electronics department at Carnegie Mellon but I'd like to bring them the info on it.

Thanks guys

On the SL-I Section of facebook, someone posted a pic recently of an open 4 plug ecu with a chip installed. Maybe that'll help you out and save you some money?

You just open the case, line up all the pins and press it in.

Kimo, other than well, the soldering part ;P

Just kidding, sort of :)

I'm a little worried about the chip though.. Got it today and I've been emailing rob, he asked about a sticker there is supposed to be on it, which there isn't. He also doesn't have any record of selling one to the guy I bought it from. I may end up sending the chip back to rob to have him take a look at before I got throwing it in.

You may have purchased the raw chip that Rob flashes with his custom firmware. Rob puts a sticker on top to denote the tune, the date, and thr customer. Does it look as though it has remnants of a sticker on there?
