someone correct me if im wrong on this... but for a n/a 2.2 custom exhuast i would probably be better off with a 2.5" setup right? wouldnt i lose too much low end with say a 3" setup?

Oh yeah....most definitely. I wouldn't go over 2.25" with the 2.2 n/a
You could probably get a 2.5 exhaust to fit with minor changes.

hmm... so 2.25"... ill try and head to the yards around here and see if i could possibly piece together a 2.5 setup... otherwise im goin with custom. problem is due to weather and a few other things around here i havent been workin at the shop so im low on cash

.. i understand that no one comes in to a shop when theres 8" of snow on the ground... but for 2-3 wks afterwards? grr lol anyways thanks and if i get this done in the near future ill be sure to post some pics

i agree with a 2.5 line but if you ever do upgrade anything with the turbo or the air intake or intercooler you should really go to a 3 which is optimal for a turbo.

In my N/A EJ20, I have a 3 inch from the 2 into 1 collectors, long quite skinny 2 into 1 header pipes to make up for the lost torque, two 18 inch hot dog resonators and huge borla race muffler at the end.
Car runs fine, now has more torque and power low down and top end.
