93 legacy 2.2l 5 speed with mechanical clutch. 170k miles

Just installed a new clutch. It's an exedy. i almost have everything back together. I just got the cable adjusted to the specs in manual. Then I go to check the pedal. I pushed the pedal in and it just stays in the floor. I can pull it out by hand. Any idea what the issue is?

It might be only for the Turbo style tranny, but when you put back everything together, you have to push the clutch fork all the way till the pressure plate grabs the throwout bearing, before anything works.

Welcome to the BBS.

If you move the top of the clutch fork backwards does it feel like it engages the pressure plate? Are you sure you installed the cables correctly? The pressure plate is what provides the resistance to bring the clutch pedal back up. The clutch type is a "push" type so the bottom part of the clutch fork will move towards the engine, so the cable will want to be pulling the top of the clutch fork from the direction of the firewall.
