CODE 33 AND 52

Will these codes cause my car to go into limp mode? These are the only cel's that show up. Granted the car has issues driving still. I was just wondering if the ecu would go into limp mode just because of these codes, because if it will then i will have to fix these first. I personally can live without a speedo and e brake light

I know 33 will effect the way autos shift and the cruise control won't work. Check the speedometer cable to make sure it's spinning, the most common failure is the adapter that screws in the transmission and connects to the cable.

Yes, code 33 will cause the ECU to go into limp mode. It does not like not having a speed input. Typically it's the base piece on the transmission that fails. The part is cheap and relatively easy to replace.

awesome... okay well the car is 5spd. Trans blew up in it so i put a wrx trans in the car with a little modification. I guess now i need to look up how to get the speedo to work because i believe it is different and possibly broken from what i recall.

Ok, well that part I posted is only for the AT cars.
When you converted to the WRX trans, did you swap the speed sensor for the piece on the old transmission so the speedo cable could be hooked up? If not, that's what you need to do.

so i guess i need to get a new sensor to plug into the trans, mine has the plastic threads stripped out. Also what about code 52 what can i do about that

Fix the speedo first, reset the codes, drive the car, and then see if code 52 comes back. It may be an erroneous code.
